What are Luxury Vinyl Tiles?
Luxury Vinyl Tiles, known as LVT, is a hard wearing flooring product which is easy to maintain and available in a wide variety of stunning designs.
LVT is created from multiple layers of materials compressed under heat with a wear layer on top to create a durable, beautiful and practical flooring product suitable for all areas of your home and most area’s of commercial premises. This includes domestic bathrooms and kitchens due to LVT’s water resilience, it is also room temperature underfoot and can be combined with underfloor heating systems.
Available in large variety of wood, stone and abstract designs there is an LVT to suit everyone’s taste or property style. Combined with the choice of different laying patterns including herringbone and parquet which can be complemented with stripping to create a grout effect or add extra character with a plank or design boarder, with LVT there is the opportunity to get creative with your new flooring.
Why LVT?
Where LVT differs from other products like wood and laminate as the product is fully secured to the subfloor and doesn’t require an expansion gap around the perimeter of the room. LVT can also be run through large or multi areas without the requirement of a door bar. Stunning boarders, feature strips and motifs can be incorporated into the design to create a feature out of your new flooring. As a flexible product LVT compensates for un level subfloors like in a large room where one side of the room is higher than the other (whithin reason), it does require a smooth surface to be secured to. Lastly most LVT products are between 2.5mm and 3mm thick which is considerably thinner than ceramic tiles which ensure there isn’t a height obstacle between area’s which you can get with ceramic or stone tiles.

Care and Maintenance
Caring for your Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring couldn’t be easier! A sweep and a mop will keep your flooring clean. Most manufactures recommend a deeper clean once a year. You should also protect your floor from unnecessary dust and dirt with a entrance mat, however it is important to note that not all mats are appropriate to put on top of your LVT flooring as some rubber backed mats can permanently discolour your beautiful floor! We also recommend protecting your LVT flooring from furniture scratching by using felt pads underneath the feet of your furniture.
